We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and its content. Personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable data protection laws, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Hosting and server log files

When you visit this website, information is automatically collected by the hosting provider and stored in server log files. This may include the IP address, date and time of access, browser type and browser version, operating system, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing device, and the pages accessed.

This data is processed in order to ensure the technical stability, security, and proper delivery of the website.

4. Contact by email or telephone

If you contact us by email or telephone, the data you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and the content of your message, will be processed for the purpose of handling your request and any follow-up communication.

Legal basis:

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, if your request is related to a contract or pre-contractual communication;
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, for general communication and correspondence.

The data will be deleted once your request has been fully processed, provided that no statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Fonts

This website uses the font “Poppins”. The font is hosted locally on this server. No connection to Google servers is established for the purpose of displaying fonts.

6. YouTube

This website includes embedded videos from YouTube, a service provided by Google. When a page with an embedded YouTube video is accessed, personal data such as your IP address and technical browser information may be transmitted to YouTube/Google.

If the privacy-enhanced mode is used, YouTube content is loaded via the domain youtube-nocookie.com. However, personal data may still be processed once the video is activated.

Where required by applicable law, YouTube videos should only be loaded after prior consent. In that case, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

If the embedding is configured in a way that is technically necessary and does not require consent under the specific setup used, the legal basis may be Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

7. Embedded content from ARD/tagesschau

This website includes embedded video content from ARD/tagesschau or the ARD Mediathek. When such embedded content is accessed or played, personal data such as IP address, browser information, device information, and usage data may be transmitted to the respective provider. The processing of this data is carried out by ARD/tagesschau or the respective ARD broadcasting service.

Embedded ARD/tagesschau content is used to provide access to media reports related to my research. Where required by applicable law, embedded content is only loaded after prior consent.

8. External links

This website contains links to external websites, including LinkedIn and Bluesky. These links are simple outbound links. No data is transferred to these providers merely because the links are displayed on this website.

Personal data will only be transmitted to the respective provider once you actively click the link and visit the external website.

This website does not intentionally use non-essential cookies, tracking tools, or analytics services, unless stated otherwise on this page.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection law.

The competent supervisory authority in Baden-Württemberg is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy in order to reflect changes in legal requirements or changes to this website and its services. The version published on this website shall apply.
